What: Mendota Rowing Club Learn to Row and Summer Novice Membership. This includes rowing with us for the rest of the summer! After completing class, you are invited to Novice practices through August 31st (the days and times of which are TBD).
Based on class size and time constraints, we will hopefully be teaching both sculling and sweep rowing techniques on land before transitioning to the water in singles and sweep boats. Please contact learntorow@mendotarowingclub.com if you have any questions.
Swim test: Rowing is a water sport and it is important that you feel confident in the water. Prior to the first class, all students must take and successfully complete the Swim Test. Please see our Swim Test page for more details. If you have any doubt about passing the test, please plan to take it more than a week before class starts (so you can get a refund if necessary).
Registration: Fees must be paid in full 7 days before the first day of class. Payment can be made online (with an additional processing fee) or checks may be made out to Mendota Rowing Club and sent to:
Mendota Rowing Club, P.O. Box 646, Madison, WI 53701
Cancellation Policy: Classes may be cancelled due to low enrollment. If cancellation is instigated by Mendota Rowing Club, a full refund will be issued. If a participant cancels more than 7 days before the start of a session, a refund will be issued minus a $10.00 registration fee. If a participant cancels less than 7 days, a 50% refund will be issued. Additionally, a participant may change to another session free of charge if done so 7 or more days before the original session start date. Session registrations will close one week prior to the first classes.
***At the instructors' discretion, MRC may reschedule sessions due to weather conditions.
